Classic Villa, Mt Eden

Brief
To extend and renovate a circa 1910 heritage villa in a leafy Mt Eden street. The vision was to retain the original wide halls and spacious rooms, but to open up the rear to create a contemporary, light-filled family home with a large contemporary extension.
The redesign involved gutting and cutting back into the original house then building an addition across the top with an atrium that poured light down through the middle. The addtion of a new pool involved the removal of mountains of volcanic rock!
