Brief

A spacious 5-br house of the hill (rather than on the hill) built for owners with a lifelong connection to the waters-edge land.
Features two rectangular pavilions connected by a stairwell and bridge over 625m2 floor area.
Half-round copper spouting and cantilevered roofs emphasise the horizontal lines offset by toned Hinuera stone cladding.
The interior features cedar tongue-and-groove ceiling and soffits, oil-finished American oak floors and Tasmanian blackwood.

Located in a high-wind zone, the house is fully modelled for thermal performance with a Nuroply warm roof, an insulated floor slab, low-e glazing and high-level opening windows to create a cooling ‘stack’ effect in summer.
